Linux Resources
Linux Resources
(and other assorted stuff)
Last updated 5 September 98
The purpose of this web site is to make people
aware of the vast amount of Linux resources that are available (for FREE!!).
There is also some information about other things in this site, but for
those who just want the linux stuff, HERE IT IS! |
RedHat's web site.
RedHat is a major vendor of Linux, and has a large number of great programs
both for download and in the distribution.
This is the flavor of Linux that I use.
This is another great site - www.cdrom.com
- or ftp.cdrom.com if you prefer to go
straight to the
ftp server. There are hundreds of utilities
here, as well as the various distributions. You can get
slackware, debian, redhat, and others here.
If you are not familiar with the different distributions
and would like more information, click
here.
Here is a lesser known web site Red
Hat Advanced Development Labs They are working to make
Linux more usable in a wide range of applications.
We can all see the importance of that.
http://www.kirch.net/unix-nt.html
- this is a web site comparing NT4 to Linux. There are some
very
interesting discussions that may be of use to
system administrators.
I started this page on the 3rd of August, and
will continue to add to it on a frequent basis.
Also, I am a Perl programmer, and I will be adding
information about Perl and some programs
that I have written that I think might be useful
to others. I would appreciate any feedback.
There will be much more coming to this web site
soon. I want to do my part to contribute to the
Linux community. If you have any comments
or suggestions, please email me and let me know.
